What is Hyaluronic acid?
Hyaluronic acid is a substance also known as hyaluronate, which refers to the polysaccharide carbohydrate found naturally in many tissues and organs of our body, epidermis, connective tissue, cartilage, eyes, etc. One of its most important properties is the ability to attract and retain moisture. And its precisely its capacity to attract and retain water that has made it the star product in cosmetics, medicine, aesthetics and various treatments in therapies of regenerative medicine and trauma, among others, as in areas of medical science.
However, during the aging process its presence in our body decreases progressively, and as a consequence, the skin loses its moisture, elasticity and firmness, making the skin flaccid and wrinkles start appearing.
However and fortunately, many of the cosmetic products that are commercialized nowadays contain hyaluronic acid and these in their function basically maintain a good hydration of the skin even of their deepest layers maintaining the thickness, the volume and the smoothness of the skin, also they contribute to delay the appearances of wrinkles or to prevent them.
Each gram of hyaluronic acid has the capacity to trap up to six liters of water. This is a relevant and large amount, since our cells are full of water and need it to use the necessary nutrients.
